Keeping you in the picture – Update 1

Keeping you in the picture – Update 1

Hi, I hope you are all keeping safe, well and positive in these uncertain times?
As the workshop is closed during the lockdown, it’s giving me some time to explore some additional framing services I can offer my customers when I re-open.
I am often asked if I have ready made frames in stock to purchase. It’s something I did not offer in the past for a number of reasons;
1.   Storage is limited at the workshop. 2.   The vast frame selection would be unmanageable. 3.  Overwhelming workload prior to lockdown (no time to make stock frames).
These are only a few of the factors that prevented me from offering the “Ready Made Frame” product.
So, the lockdown has given me time to formulate a plan!
I’m delighted to offer Ready Made Frames when the workshop re-opens.
There will be a selection of colours and standard frame sizes available to purchase on-line (click & collect) and at the workshop. Unfortunately there will not be a delivery/postage option.

Box Framing a British Military No2’s Uniform Jacket

Box Framing a British Military No2’s Uniform Jacket

A friend and local business owner recently completed some military medal mounting for Lloyd, an ex-serving soldier from Newark, Nottingham.
They struck up a conversation and Lloyd shared an idea he had for a retirement gift for a very good friend of his. They hatched a plan to produce a retirement gift with the WOW factor!
During the conversation, George who owns McKay’s Kilts and Medal in Consett, suggested using my framing services to help create the gift.
Lloyd  visited my workshop the very same day to discuss the options. To cut a long story short, the images you see in this post are of the finished item. Working together helped get the WOW factor and more!!

Local History Framed

Local History Framed

Invitation to view an item I’ve framed.
So…….. I received a call from a customer who I recently framed a large flag for.
Tom, who is a key member in my local community presented a Boys Brigade Flag to be framed at my workshop. The flag was discovered during recent renovation works at West Pelton Methodist Church. The church is literally 30 steps from my family home.
On completion, Tom promised an invite to view the framed flag once it was hung in the church.
I very rarely get the opportunity to view something I’ve framed once it leaves the workshop.
It was humbling to see the framed flag in the church and to listen to the positive feedback it received.

I would like to make you aware of my fast approaching family holiday and how it will affect the opening times of the workshop.
We will be taking our family holiday a little earlier this year to enjoy some quality time together and to celebrate with our son Declan, who has recently completed of his GCSE exams.
The workshop will close at 1:00pm on Saturday 29th of June 2019
Opening again on Monday 8th July 2019 at 9:00am.
As always I appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.
Best wishes
